The Kindle DX looks on paper impressive feature packed, but it can replace the good old book? Read on to find out. The Kindle DX feels slightly heavier than the Kindle 2, but due to its very slim profile, it remains comfortable with two hands to hold. It can be held with one hand, but it is more convenient to keep but with two hands.
The new E-Ink display Pearl is very impressive. Get the big-screen media, much as the previous Kindle, to less page which turns more text per page. The effects of which are obvious celebrated 50% better contrast. The text on the screen looks sharp, dark and clear, making reading an enjoyable experience. Compared to the original Kindle DX looking black significantly firmer.
The dark gray graphite border leads to less eye strain than with the white border of the original Kindle DX, as your eyes are better focused on the display. In the navigation it is very similar to the Kindle 2, with the exception that now are on the right side navigation buttons and the keyboard is small. The previous/next page buttons are no longer on the left. Page controls on just one side something is what I don’t like how it makes access to these buttons a little cumbersome if you turn pages in landscape mode.
With the keyword the key is a little awkward, because small and intervals are far apart. The keyboard is not ergonomic because you can reach the keys with your thumbs, if keep the Kindle on the sides. I would split the keyboard into two sections for better accessibility are preferred. Page breaks seem faster than the original DX, but it’s still a bit more than with an LCD-based eBook reader due to the slow e ink screen refresh rate slow. But, compared to turning a regular book, the speed is very similar.
The rotating display feature car is great. More convenient, you can read material such as maps, newspapers and magazines, through the Kindle rotate horizontally. A problem, however, is that you need about 45 degrees for the screen rotation turn up only the screen, so, if to be activated as sit back and read, you may need the orientation menu, occur to all unwanted screen rotation, to prevent that locks.
The Kindle DX can hold up to 3,500 documents of books/so that it has well equipped to save many people book collection. There is no memory card reader, to use the 3 GB + space then you can expand the memory. This is something, what I would have included as specific documents can eat very much space. The Web browser is a nice feature, especially since the wireless access is free of charge. It offers only basic search, so don’t expect not to Flash or a Java-based Web sites search, does not support since the. The lifetime of the battery is very satisfactory. After a charge, it lasts for about three weeks with Wi-Fi. With Wi-Fi enabled consumption reduced to about a week.
The Kindle DX is slim, light and has a good quality large display, so it’s easy on the eye even in sunlight to read. It has its design flaws if however; above all, the keyboard is cumbersome to use and the lack of page turn buttons on both sides. Overall, if you eBook reader for book read for a big screen then the Kindle DX is a fantastic choice, but for other purposes, such as viewing of PDF documents, browsing the notes net or taking into account its borders it hold back.
